‘Vino da Sete White’ from Tenuta il Nespolo is a handcrafted, easy-drinking white made from old vines planted by Luca’s grandfather. Vinified with a gentle direct press and native yeast fermentation in stainless steel, where it rests for 6–8 months. Brightly aromatic on the nose, it’s crisp, dry and refreshingly zippy: the kind of wine that hits the spot even on the hottest afternoons.

WHY WE LIKE IT

'Vino da Sete' Bianco is a simple but spot-on white: fragrant, fresh, and straight to the point. Just like its name suggests, it’s a real thirst-quencher, crafted to pair with its red sibling, Vino da Sete, one of the staples that’s been with Sfusobuono since the very beginning. Close your eyes: you're perched on a rock somewhere in Liguria, a slice of focaccia in one hand and a glass of Vino da Sete in the other.

Tenuta il Nespolo

Luca Amerio is a very young winemaker from Nizza Monferrato area. The winery is located in Moasca, a lovely little village still partially unknown to touristic buses, dominated by a beautiful castle restored respecting its history and surrounded by vineyards and biodiversity.

Tenuta il Nespolo takes its name from the loquat - in italian 'nespolo' - tree that stands right in front of the winery entrance and has a long history of quality bulk wine behind it. A tradition that Luca wanted to maintain, to please his family and to communicate the dignity that lies behind a demijohn, or why not, a bag in box! The winery is visited not only by aficionados from the surrounding areas, but also by people from Lombardy who, with the excuse of stocking up on red wine for the winter, have the chance to spend a day in Piedmont enjoying good food and good drink.

The Tenuta il Nespolo cellar is small, cozy and authentic: the old concrete vats, a few steel tanks and some oak barrels used for the longer aging of Nizza. The wines that are kept in these vats are the classic ones of the area: Barbera, undisputed queen, Dolcetto, Favorita and Chardonnay, with small batches of other varieties such as Sangiovese, planted years ago with a stroke of madness by Luca's grandfather and now an integral part of the 'Vino da Sete' [literally Wine for Thirst]. A blend of the grapes grown that has a truly unique story behind it, made in full lockdown by Luca along with some crazy friends.
