Cabernet Franc from the Terre Grosse winery is a daily red from Veneto made with spontaneous fermentation and long maceration on the skins in steel. The grapes come from a vineyard with clay soils from the 1960s in Zenson di Piave, in the province of Treviso, where the winery is located. Impenetrable purple color, herbaceous and fruity nose that opens the doors to a soft, frank and spicy sip.

WHY WE LIKE IT

This Cabernet Franc from Terre Grosse presents itself as the classic everyday red from Veneto to drink in the typical osteria during lunch. Its fruity, spicy flavor and fresh, smooth texture make it perfect with radicchio risotto, pasta bolognese and the main courses of meat that most appeal to you.

Terre Grosse

Terre Grosse is a family owned winery from Veneto based in Zenson di Piave, along the left bank of the river in the province of Treviso. The ‘terre grosse’ (literally big lands) that give the winery its name pay homage to the area's prosperous clay soils, where in 1931 grandfather Piero settled with his family with the ambition of creating something new by exploiting the fertility. of the surrounding countryside.

Since 2012, the faces (and arms) of Terre Grosse have been Denise, Linda and Nicola, who decided to leave their singular life and professional paths to devote themselves full-time to the family project. Their entry into the winery is under the sign of sustainability and in 2018 Terre Grosse obtains organic certification on the label. Between the rows of vines, the grass is tall so as to maintain the biodiversity of the ecosystem and a greater quantity of organic substance in the soil, against fungal diseases only copper and sulphur are used, and a few years ago an old Merlot vineyard was replanted in favour of resistant varieties that have made it possible to reduce treatments by 50%.

We first met Terre Grosse at Vini di Vignaioli event and at FIVI Independent Winegrowers' Market and we were immediately on the same page: the wines are clean and easy-drinking, perfect with cicchetti and friends at the bar. The valorisation of indigenous Piave grape varieties such as Glera, Raboso, Pinot Grigio, Grapariol and Verduzzo is undoubtedly Terre Grosse's hallmark and also the reason why we chose to work with them. Let finally welcome Veneto on Sfusobuono!
